Whatever else the weather may be doing, spring is descending upon our house with a flurry of activity. It has been b.u.s.y. and these last couple weeks were just a warm-up for the next three. So. Take a deep breath and hang on. Oh wait. I need to do that. If anyone has any spare hours they'd like to share with me, I'll be happy to accept. :)
Day 50. This young man is a RIOT. This morning he proudly announced "My face is green, Mommy!" (He enjoyed sharing Mommy's spinach smoothie ...) This was obviously followed by a washcloth, and every face washing session is preceeded by his plea to "Let me see my dirty face, Mommy!" So he carefully examines his face in the mirror with a rather smug expression as he realizes just how successful he was at making his face dirty. Thankfully he's happy to let me clean it ... after the mess has been properly examined.
Day 51. Hannah's training her replacement ;)
Day 52. Marshmallows. An excellent excuse to light a fire. :)
Day 53. The train is leaving the station, and Matthew's settled in the sleeper car ...
Day 54. Daddy has thoroughly enjoyed teaching Peter how to fly a model airplane with the simulator on his Nexus. :)
Day 55. I ran to the bedroom to grab something before we left for church, and had to laugh when I noticed that Peter wanted to make sure his buddies could watch us leave. :)
Day 56. Brownies. Mommy doesn't have to do a thing these days. :)
Day 57. We read books around here. A lot. And when certain little people have nearly every story memorized by the second or third reading, it's fun to see how many "changes" you can slip in without them noticing. And reader and memorizer alike find it uproariously funny when he who has memorized the book catches the reader in the act ... and proudly declares the correct word with a very. loud. voice. :)
Day 58. A rousing round of Scrabble Junior ... :)
Day 59. Field trip!! :) What a blessing it was to enjoy a day together at the Children's Museum! (More pictures to come ...)
Day 60. Brothers! :) A couple evenings ago as Matthew was racing trucks along the hallway, Peter asked him a question about something or other. Without missing a beat or slowing down, Matthew called over his shoulder, clear as a bell, "Sorry, Peter! Can't stop now!" I asked Peter if he had heard what I had heard, and we both burst out laughing! :D
Day 61. More fun with friends ... at the Bounce House Party! :)
Day 62. Yay! Our craft and game closet (sans door) is complete! SO excited about this! It's a wonderful use for the space under the stairwell in the basement.
Day 63. Well, this little guy added some unexpected excitement to an already full week. :) When we discovered him stiff from cold about 11:00 Sunday evening, we decided that our basement would be a more suitable location for him to spend the night.
We took him to our local animal care center Monday afternoon, but the kids thoroughly enjoyed having him around for the day. They nicknamed him "duck" as he graced us with what sounded more like quacking than barking for most of the night ... and morning ... and afternoon. ;) Mommy was thankful for some whitenoise in the bedroom allowing for a few hours sleep and especially thankful when he finally dropped off for an hour or so during our school morning.
And that, my friends, is life in these parts. Amazingly, we're just getting geared up for some even busier weeks ahead! However, as a side note ... we have completed 77% of our school year! Woo-hoo! Workbooks are decidedly thinner ... just 8 full weeks remaining!

Your craft closet looks wonderful!! What fun to have it so organized. I remember taking Hannah and Peter to the Children's Museum. We thoroughly enjoyed watching them on the large climbing mobile. (Once they had it to themselves after the school groups had left for the day) And while I knew Matthew's face had some sort of food....green smoothie was a bit startling. :-)
