365 Project.2 | Weeks 10-11

These last few weeks have been anything but boring. We've packed quite the variety of fun and challenges into 14 days ...

 

Day 64. Ah yes. Puzzles. And pajamas. They go together nicely, don't you think? Matthew likes puzzles. He also likes his PJs. And on school mornings, Mommy is content to pair the two ... we try to make sure that he doesn't take an afternoon nap in his PJs ... at least, not very often. ;)

Day 65. We discovered Mancala when we organized the game/craft closet, and enjoyed playing many games over the course of those first few days.

Day 66. Boxcar Children, the Chronicles of Narnia, the Bobsy Twins, and the Ramona series are currently at the top of her favorites' list ... and she switches in between books and series at random. She'll pop her nose into whatever book happens to be closest if she can't immediately book locate her preferred book of choice. :)

Day 67. And this is when life started to get exciting! :) We had the privilege of joining about twenty friends from church in a work trip at Anchorage Camp in North Carolina. It was a blessing in so many ways! Here are just a few highlights ...

The main camp building ... houses the cafeteria, game/meeting room, snack hall, and a large gymnasium. It overlooks a beautiful lake!

Erick adopted Matthew for the afternoon so that Mommy and Daddy could help with projects! :)

Wait ... did I say this was a work trip? Anchorage Camp definitely knows how to incorporate fun as well! :) The bigger kids on the trip enjoyed playing roller hockey in the gymnasium/skating rink. Some of us just enjoyed learning to stay on our feet. :)

 

Hannah and Faith-Ann had so much fun being together for the weekend!

 

Day 68. And yes, we did do some work! In fact, Sarah and the kids cleaned up most of the grounds!

 

I bounced between the kids and helping Chris and the college girls with wiring two rooms the camp is remodeling. As a team, we also got ten bunkbeds scraped and repainted, a chimney remortared, bunk room trim painted, a bathroom retiled, and stairs retreaded ... and that's just what I knew about! :)

 The sunsets were beautiful!

 

Unfortunately, this little guy got sick. :( And his brother joined him that night.

 

Day 69. It made for an interesting trip home. But the Lord was merciful. Considering what we were dealing with and what the previous day and night had entailed, our four-hour trip home could have been so much worse.

Day 70. Mommy wasn't feeling the best either on Monday and was quite content with Peter's self-selected school activities involving lots of Lego building. Supervised by a horizontal Mommy. It was actually a blessing that Matthew was horizontal, too.

Day 71. Tuesday was beautiful and everyone seemed to be doing much better. Would you believe I actually got a picture with all three children looking at the camera and smiling ... and Toby as a bonus?!!?

Love this one of Peter though! He passed up Mommy's suggestion of playing soccer for collecting sticks for the bonfire.

 

Day 72. But Matthew was down for the count again on Wednesday. Sigh. Bring out the blankets and buddies and videos ... and puzzles. Lots of puzzles. 

Day 73. Things started looking up. :) While Mommy ran errands, Peter and Daddy built a helocopter with a spinning rotor!

Day 74. We haven't done a book-a-thon for a while ... it was a nice change of pace. :) Have I mentioned recently that we love homeschooling ... especially on a week like this one. We did what we could when we could, and by the end of the week, the essentials were accomplished. Along with plenty of sleeping.

 

Thanks for the stickers, Grandma! Matthew loved decorating his cup! 

Day 75. Saturday was very full as our church hosted a 3 on 3 basketball tournament for the kids in our community. The Lord blessed with a beautiful day!

Hannah even found her own niche to help out ... scorekeeping!

Day 76. Spring is most definitely in bloom!

Day 77. I love my monkey's laugh! One of our favorite games in recent days is to go back and forth saying "hello" in about six different languages ... it always ends in giggles! :)

He's getting so big! Can you believe he'll be three in less than a month!?!

Day 78. And guess what Hannah-bug and Mommy did this evening ... we finally picked our daffodils that have been in bloom for the last two weeks! Pajamas and all! :)

 

And now, it's time for this Mommy to be heading to bed. The time change did not help my early-morning schedule at. all. :} Still have hopes of posting pictures from the Children's Museum ... but they're going to have to wait. :)
