Day 92. We kicked April off with a fun evening at the circus, compliments of free tickets from our friends! ♥ Grandma and Grandpa were able to join us which made it extra fun. :)
♥
So excited to see the animals! ♥
If you've ever tried to take pictures at the circus, you'll quickly realize that most of them really don't come out very well. However, I had to share this one ... this camel just cracked me up. Even from the stands, you could tell that he was Mr. P.e.r.s.o.n.a.l.i.t.y. He was the class clown if ever there was one. :)Day 93. The next day was a BIG day for our crew ... we'd been working for a couple months to prepare for a play with our homeschool group and today was it. :)
Mommy's sink turned hair salon ...
Pretty curls ♥
Here's our group. :)And a closeup of our crew ... even Mommy got involved. :) The lady who wrote the play is very creative, and she designed some amazing and very elaborate costumes to accompany the script. :)
Day 95. The birds were happy for our feeder when the snow buried their worms!
Day 96. Abby-girl with her loveys ... including a few extras borrowed from siblings. ♥
Day 97. My girls. ♥
Day 98. Abby thoroughly approved of the new "Billy and Blaze" book series her big brother found ... Of course, anything with pictures of horses in it is a sure win! :) (And for the record, this is a GREAT series for 8-10 year old boys, including those who may not be the strongest of readers.) ♥
Day 99. But, Little Blue Truck is good, too. ;) I love these pictures for their quiet commentary on perspective. Same moment. Two totally different views. Most of us need to remember that others' perspectives are vastly different from our own. ♥ And it usually won't hurt to try to see things from another point of view. ♥
Daddy's view ...
Mommy's view ...
♥
Day 100. The paint samples are back. In force! :) We declared today "Painting Day," and after having lived with patchwork quilt walls for nearly a month, we finally settled on Behr's "Weathered Moss" about 8:00 this morning. :)So thankful for my amazing hubby! I managed meals and kids and laundry, etc ... he managed the paint. ♥
And just to add another aspect to his amazingness ... he patiently taught the kids how to paint while he was doing it! ♥
Granted, at least a little bit of the painting was just to be able to say "I helped!" :D ♥
We love the new color! ♥
Day 101. This little lady cracks me up! She's ALWAYS on the move, isn't super fond of the camera, and enjoys wearing other people's shoes!Day 102. And salad. Did I mention recently that she loves salad?!?! Especially when she gets to pick and choose her favorite ingredients while sitting on the counter "helping" you make it. ♥
Day 103. Time to go play at Grandma's! ♥
Day 104. We captured Matthew's "Last Day of Five!"
And this particular dictation assignment just made me smile. Pretty sure Matthew captured the essence of the Boston Tea Party. :)
Day 105. Happy 6th Birthday, Matthew!! ♥ Day 106. Time for Art!
Our strong girl discovered a pull up bar at just her height! ♥
So excited!!! ♥♥♥
And swinging with big sister is pretty fun, too! What a beautiful spring day!
Day 107. While Daddy and the big kids ran errands, Mommy, Abby, and Toby enjoyed an afternoon walk. :)
My crew returned with supplies to repair the deck. :)
Day 108. Just one of the many things you can do with a new game of Battleship! :)
Day 109. When it's a bit sunnier than you'd prefer, but you really want to be outside ... you get creative. :)
Day 110.We're crediting Abby's fascination with talking on the phone to her mornings with Grandma who often has to multitask with business calls. :) Just learning from the best! :)
♥
Day 111. Circles are so boring ... :)Day 112. The siren call of spring sounded loud and clear!
Day 113. Happy 9th Birthday, Peter! ♥
!!!!!
Day 114. Up on the side of the hill behind our house, the kids have discovered the "Indian Jump." Basically it's a couple logs forming a natural teeter-totter, and they've had hours of fun on it this spring! :)Day 115. This little lady is a smoothie drinking expert ... just look at that concentration!
Yum! :)
Day 116. Peter and Abby ... what a pair! ♥ They make Mommy's heart stop occasionally, but they're two peas in a pod!
Day 117. It was "cat night"! :)
Day 118. ♥
Abby decided that she preferred to be in control of the dump truck ...
Day 119. Standardized tests are so much less tedious when you can take them on a sunny deck swing. ♥
Day 120. And then Grandma and Grandpa arrived! :) One small piece of their visit was a group birthday celebration, including a special kitchen set for Abby. Daddy and Grandpa had fun putting it together. :)
Day 121.♥
The kids were super excited! :) So thankful for the love reflected in very thoughtful and special gifts. ♥
And that be April! :)
It's fun to be getting caught up! Hopefully the excess of pictures hasn't been too overwhelming. :)
See you in May! :)
