365 Project | Week 15

It was a big week around here. Among other things, birthday season has begun! :) We celebrated Matthew's birthday on Saturday and in the next 33 days, we will have completed the rounds, including Mothers' Day and our anniversary. Let the parties begin! ;)

Day 100. Our faithful van reached a milestone, coinciding nicely with the 100th day of the year. :)
Day 101. As of May 10, I will be privileged to be a "stay at home" mom. I am beyond excited! :) So much prayer has gone into this decision, and we are excited to see where the Lord is leading us. :)
Day 102. Mommy and Matthew are both glad for Hannah's reading skills. Especially when we're trying to get out the door in a timely fashion. ;)Day 103. Chris (supposedly) took a couple days off work to get the site prepped for our heatpump and address the last of the outstanding drainage issues. By the end of Friday, even with some unanticipated work responsibilities, he had the pad installed, wiring and drainage issues resolved, and nice grey rock covering the dirt. :) Nice work, hon!
Day 104. Hannah loves birthdays. She particularly enjoys her own (who doesn't?!?), but she also loves celebrating everyone else's. She enjoyed the privilege of staying up a bit later than the boys to help me decorate for Matthew's birthday. It's fun to have a helper! :)
Day 105. Matthew is two! :) We celebrated with presents, cookie pizza, and a trip to the track to ride bikes and play on the playground. Lots of fun for all! :)

Especially for Great Grandma

Would you please pray for my Grandma? She has not been feeling well at all, and we would greatly appreciate your prayers that the Lord will strengthen and heal her. And while I'm sure others will also enjoy it, this post is particularly for her. I had already picked ten of the pictures to include in a top ten post later this week, but I decided this evening to bump up the schedule and include a few more ... just to add some extra smiles to her morning. :)

We love you, Great Grandma! Enjoy! :)
We love you, Great Grandma, and we're praying for you!
(We love you, too, Great Grandpa--take good care of Grandma!)

Celebrating His Resurrection

For many years we've intentionally shyed away from many of the traditional Easter celebrations--mostly because in the midst of the commercialism, many people seemed to have forgotten the resurrection of Christ. However, this year we realized that in our efforts to avoid the commercialism, we had also (essentially) forgotten Christ's resurrection. Easter had almost become a non-holiday in our home. We decided to rectify that. Easter celebrates one of the most important truths of the Bible--we want that to be important to our children. So here's a glimpse of some the happenings in our home last week ...

Decorations--compliments of Publix ...and Hannah. :)
Celebrating the new life we have through Christ ...
Easter cards for a friend who will soon be seeing his Savior face-to-face ...
Spring-themed Sugar Cookies ...
It was Matthew's first time really helping with cookies ... he liked the dough. ;)
White chocolate lambs ...
A resurrection reminder on our special dessert ...
Easter portrait ... compliments of Hannah :)
And an afternoon Easter egg hunt ... so much fun! :)
Simple things, but it has been good to remember.
He has risen, as He said.
