Yay! I'm managing to give a ONE week update! :) Happiness is. It's so much more fun to review pictures on a weekly basis. It's obviously not always possible, but I'm thankful that today it was.
It's been a fairly normal week with the exception of Mommy and Abby both being under the weather. Mommy is definitely on the mend. Abby? Not so much. :( Thankfully she's not been particularly fussy at all, but she's been throwing up at random times since Friday morning ... :( Along with praying for her to get better, I'm praying much that the rest of the family won't get the stomach bug.
Day 81. I find Abby's hands fascinating! They are SO little. Even as it seems like she's growing right before my eyes, her hands still seem tiny. Love them. ♥
Day 82. Exiting the house for two hours on a grey, rainy day when Mommy is on the downward swing of flu or something comparable is not my idea of fun. But the Lord is good, and He gives grace. We drove to a scenic lookout and listened to an audio book from our school reading list. The kids were all content, and we passed our home inspection with flying colors! Yay! :)
Day 83. Not sure which is more fun ... mirrors or big sisters. :)
Day 84. My kitchen window sill ... the violet was a happy surprise for $2.87 from Walmart a few weeks ago and the conch shells were special gifts from our friends' teenage sons while camping. Blessed.
Day 85. Most times they get together for fun, but sometimes they get together to work! In preparation for the challenging duet they had to play for their piano evaluations, the girls practiced. And practiced. And practiced. And practiced!! :) We were all glad to hear very definite improvement by the end of the morning. :)
Day 86. Matthew loves school! He honestly can't get enough of it. And Mommy counts her blessings that "school" for a four year old is very flexible. And Matthew can't seem to help learning ... whether it's structured or not!
Day 87. Peter unintentionally dunked his bike in the ocean while camping. Along with learning lessons about not assuming the depth of water when you can't see the bottom, he also learned how to clean and repack a bearing with grease. :)
Day 88. And this little lady is still having tummy trouble ... but she is thankfully not a bit fussy in between times! She's 8 months old today, but I'm going to wait to take her "official" 8-month pictures until I can be reasonably certain that her special new outfit from Grandma won't get abundantly "blessed."
However, at eight months old,
- she has five (!!!!) teeth and weighs16.4 lbs
- she is sitting super well
- she loves to play with her toys ... particularly blocks and her Noah's Ark with animals
- she is not crawling or even really thinking about it
- she loves to stand and jump and goes crazy in her exersaucer :)
- she loves her siblings ♥
- she's trying a few solids here and there, but has a strong preference for Mommy and little interest in her highchair
- she is finally remaining (mostly) calm in the church nursery :) Many thanks to those who cared for her when she was not ...
- she is not yet sleeping through the night, but she goes down for naps and bedtime with very little fuss
Happy 8 months, Abby-girl!! We love you to pieces!!!

Yes, forsythia grows well in New York -- my mother-in-law had an incredible stand of it up there. :)
