October?

Somehow it seems as though I blinked and October disappeared. Much of that, however, has to do with caring for this young man ...

We are so thankful to see his energy returning after his bout with pneumonia.

And we're praying not to see more of this for a very long time ... he was pretty sick there for a while.
However, with the arrival and exodus of October, we have also enjoyed some beautiful fall weather ...

Among other things. :o)

Christmas is coming ... which means that Christmas projects must be finished ... which means that I must beg your understanding when blog posts continue few and far between ...

Incredible flavor, incredibly easy.

The Recipe

1. Load your crockpot with peeled, sliced apples. (I used Mutzu, Golden Delicious, and a couple Pink Ladies.)


2. Sprinkle cinnamon liberally over top.


3. Cook on low, 8–10 hours.


4. Blend with stick mixer.


5. Enjoy.

Cranky Cameras, etc.

As you may or may not have noticed, my blog updates have been a bit sparse. Granted, my schedule is a bit tight, but the main reason is that my camera and I were not on particularly good speaking terms last month. It was eating batteries. Seriously. Every time I tried to use it, it complained that the battery was low. I might get one or possibly two pictures and then it died. Completely. So I'd recharge the batteries. Repeat same scenario. Grrr. My rechargeables had obviously lost their charge and using non-rechargeable batteries is like pouring money down the drain. I used them only when desperate (i.e. we're taking our annual trip to the apple orchard!)

So anyway, I was grumpy with my camera and hence not many pictures were taken. I have since purchased a new set of rechargables. My camera and I are much happier with each other again. :o)

So while my camera catches up on life, enjoy ten days of our top ten "moments" from recent weeks ...
